If you will be arriving to a nearby airport or train station, you can request pick-up from our MIU transportation team by submitting our Arrival & Transport Request Form.

Here are the standard options for where we pick students up:

    • Cedar Rapids, IA Airport
    • Des Moines, IA Airport
    • Burlington, IA Airport
    • Moline, IL Airport
    • Train — Mt. Pleasant, IA
    • Train — Ottumwa, IA
    • Bus — Fairfield, IA

Your contact info will be given to the transport team, and shortly before your arrival a driver will be in touch with you to confirm the pickup. In most cases, the driver will bring you directly to your dorm building and a greeter will be there with your room key. Please read all communication from our entry coordinators in case there are any changes to this procedure.

    • Arrival days are Monday, August 12, and Tuesday, August 13, for US citizens and permanent residents. The arrival days for international students are Sunday, August 11, and Monday, August 12.
    • If you have your own transportation arranged, either driving from home, an airport, or another location, please still submit the Arrival & Transport Request Form to indicate your day of arrival and estimated time of arrival. If you’re living in campus housing, we strongly recommend that you arrive on one of the designated arrival days, between 10am-5pm.
    • When you arrive to campus, you should go directly to the Argiro Student Center (see campus map) where we will have welcome stations set up. You will meet Admissions there and pick up your dorm key. Please read all communication from our entry coordinators in case there are any changes to this procedure. The welcome station times might extend later in the evening.
    • If you will be driving yourself and arriving outside of the welcome station hours, please let us know your estimated time of arrival so we can try to arrange a greeter at your dorm. If you don’t communicate your time of arrival and you arrive outside welcome hours, or if you arrive very late at night, call Campus Security at (641) 472-1115 and they will let you into your residence hall.
    • If you’ll be living in off-campus housing, please come to the Argiro Student Center to check in between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm on the designated arrival days.

Our entry coordinators will be in touch leading up to the time of arrival with other details, so please read your email and text messages. We look forward to having you here soon!!
