The MS in Business Technology& Analytics is a 36-credit program that provides you cutting-edge technical skills with hands on experience with business application in partnership with SAP University alliance to demonstrate expertise in Business tech and Analytics, data visualization, enterprise systems integration (SAP S4HANA), data mining, and data warehousing.

What will I learn?

  • Integrated business processes using SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).  Modules include finance, controlling, production planning, and material management.
  • SAP business process configuration and execution.
  • Business analytics using SAP Business Objects, SAP Lumira, Data Warehouse, Crystal Reports, and predictive analytics.
  • Financial and managerial accounting using the SAP ERP platform.

Courses and Degree Requirements

MS students must complete a total of 36 semester-hour credits, including 24 credits Business Techology and Analytics Courses, 8 credits of elective courses, and 4 credits of FOR 500 The Science of Creative Intelligence.

Students who have taken graduate coursework in business administration at another university and have not used those credits for a degree may apply to have up to 10 credits count as electives toward the MS, subject to approval by the Program Director.

Where the MBA is a full-spectrum general management degree requiring up to 58 credits, the MS in Business Technology and Analytics is a highly focused master’s degree. Its 36 credits can be completed in four semesters of evening-weekend online study, or two semesters of full-time on-campus study.

Any MGT course at the 500 level may count as an elective course.

Entrance Requirements

Applicants should have a four-year undergraduate degree or the equivalent and a GPA of 3.0 or higher, or a GPA of 3.2 or higher in the final two years of college. Acceptance is based upon the quality of undergraduate performance and other factors.

All international students must submit official English proficiency test scores (either TOEFL or IELTS) as part of their application. The test must have been taken within the past two years. Applicants are exempt from this requirement if they have resided in the following countries for a minimum of 2 years: American Samoa, Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Canada (except Quebec), Dominica, Grenada, Grand Cayman, Guyana, Ireland, Jamaica, Liberia, New Zealand, Trinidad/Tobago, United Kingdom, and US Pacific Trust. Applicants with scores below 6.5 on IELTS, 575 TOEFL paper-based, 230 TOEFL computer-based, 90 TOEFL internet-based, or 58 PTE take the Intensive English program before enrolling in degree program classes.

Naveed Abbasi is director of the MBA in Accounting and SAP programs, and professor of Accounting and SAP ERP. Professor Naveed Abbasi brings more than 20 years of valuable experience in financial reporting, data analysis, implementing ERP systems and accounting systems for multi-national corporations as well as SMEs. Besides teaching SAP courses, he teaches data analytics, financial modeling, and corporate financial reporting.

This course focuses on key areas of the financial and management accounting module of SAP ERP. This is the core module of SAP ERP, which is integrated with other SAP modules.


SAP – Enterprise Business Processes


Students learn the business processes of SAP including accounting, sales & distribution processes, procurement process, and warehouse management.


SAP – Enterprise Resource Planning


A thorough overview of the basic SAP tools to view and create reports in financial areas. Students will get experience with creating standard and customized reports from an actual database.

The class sessions are video-conferenced live via the Internet and are recorded for students whose time zone or work schedule does not permit synchronous participation.

Readings and homework account for another 7-10 hours of academic work per week.
Students earn 2 credits per month with this online part-time schedule.

On-campus full-time Class Schedule

  • Monday through Friday 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM to 3:15 PM US CST
  • Saturdays: 10:00-12:30 PM US CST

Students earn 4 credits per month with this full-time schedule.

Loan Repayment Options

Payments are a fixed amount that ensures your loans are paid off within 10 years (within 10 to 30 years for Consolidation Loans).
Payments may be fixed or graduated and will ensure that your loans are paid off within 25 years.
Payments are lower at first and then increase, usually every two years, and are for an amount that will ensure your loans are paid off within 10 years (within 10 to 30 years for Consolidation Loans).
Your monthly payments will be either 10 or 15 percent of discretionary income (depending on when you received your first loans), but never more than you would have paid under the 10-year Standard Repayment Plan.
Payments are recalculated each year and are based on your updated income, family size, and the total amount of your Direct Loans. Any outstanding balance will be forgiven if you haven’t repaid your loan in full after 25 years.
Your monthly payment is based on annual income, but your loan will be paid in full within 15 years.

Yes. Federal loans typically cover all tuition costs for US citizens and permanent residents. In addition, federal loans are generally available for your housing, meals, and personal expenses. There are no upfront tuition costs. See Cost & Aid above.
