The MBA for Accounting Professionals program addresses the needs of international accounting professionals who want to deepen their knowledge of U.S. accounting and audit practices used in multi-national companies and international non-government organizations (NGOs).

Many of our graduates become fully-licensed Certified Public Accountants (CPA) or Certified Management Accountants (CMA).

How It Works

Students in this track start with an 8-month, full-time academic intensive on campus followed by up to 2 years of credit-bearing, full-time accounting internships with companies in the U.S.

Students engage in ongoing academic coursework to complete their degree requirements. International students can take advantage of training opportunities by means of authorized Curricular Practical Training (CPT).

The entire program is 2.5 years in length.

Our next entries are in August 2018 and February 2019.
Our students usually make between $45,000 and $70,000 per year.
In the past two years, 97% of our students have been placed in U.S. companies.
See our Cost & Aid page.
Eight months are spent on our campus and then up to two years are spent in Curricular Practical Training.

Cost & Aid, 2022-23

International MBA Professionals

Typical cost and aid for 8 months of full-time academic on-campus study, followed by up to 2 years of credit-bearing, full-time accounting internships with companies in the USA (Curricular Practical Training, CPT). Program costs are typically covered by an initial payment ($3,500, $5,000 or $7,500) and then a loan for the remaining tuition. The amount of the initial payment will vary according to the qualifications and experience of the applicant. The lowest initial payment ($3,500) would be accorded to those applicants with professional credentials (ACCA, CPA) and years of professional experience. An example is the table below showing the financial aid available to a student whose initial payment is $7,500:

Cost and Typical Financial Aid
Tuition and fees$17,806
Health Insurance (estimate)$3,506
Housing (on campus, single room) and meals$7,400
Initial Payment-$7,500
Your Financial Aid-$21,212
Personal expenses, books, unexpected needs (estimate)$2,000

  • In order to be issued an I-20 form, applicants need to verify funds for the initial payment ($7,500) and personal expenses ($2,000).
  • Additional living expenses may be incurred while seeking your CPT position.
  • Students who pay the total program cost within 6 months of their entry date will receive a $1,000 tuition reduction.
  • Total program cost does not include the cost of instruction in the Transcendental Meditation technique ($190) for those who take this instruction at MIU

Tuition, other fees, scholarships, and financial policies are subject to change prior to the entry date.
