What is Maharishi AyurVeda?

We teach the Maharishi AyurVedaSM health system – the modern, scientific revival of complete Ayurveda. Maharishi AyurVeda includes balancing the deepest value of mind – consciousness, which is the basis of balancing the body. It incorporates all aspects of mind, body, behavior, and environment in a scientific framework.

What will I learn?

Our program integrates modern medicine and science with the natural approach of Ayurveda — and teaches you how to use them together to create optimal health.

Learn practical skills

StudentReceive in-depth training on how to conduct Ayurvedic consultations and learn how to use holistic modalities to assess, maintain, and restore balance on different levels of the mind-body system.

You’ll graduate as an Ayurveda consultant, with real-world knowledge and training which enables you, upon satisfaction of the legal requirements in the state you wish to practice in, to provide health care through a natural yet scientific approach.

MIU is a member of the National Ayurvedic Medical Association (NAMA) and satisfies NAMA’s curricular requirements. Completion of the program prepares our graduates to take the NAMA counselor exam, which enables you to be a NAMA certified Ayurvedic Health Counselor.

Earn an optional online bachelor’s specialization

Get a Bachelor of Applied Arts & Sciences (or any other bachelor’s degree program) plus a 32-credit specialization in one of the following:

Students practicing yogaYoga is more than just physical exercise. Complete Yoga is a state of unity, experienced as perfect harmony between mind, body, and nature. In this specialization, you’ll learn to establish and maintain a state of yoga in your life through a variety of modalities, including the practice of the Transcendental Meditation® technique, Pranayama (breathing exercises), and Ayurveda. You’ll learn to teach Maharishi Yoga Asanas, a profound set of asanas that require no effort or strain. You’ll also study Yoga philosophy and the classic Yogic texts – Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, the Bhagavad Gita, and more. Graduate with a 200-hour yoga teacher training certification.

At the heart of this one-of-a-kind program is the understanding that each person is a unique individual. We’ll teach you to identify a client’s unique mind-body constitution and apply techniques that are compassionate, motivating, and specific to each person to promote change. Our mission is to help you awaken your innermost self so that you can guide others in the same process of self-realization.
