Where are you from and what brought you here to the David Lynch MA?
I’m from Washington, DC and my love of David Lynch and photography brought me to the David Lynch MFA in film. I love film. I love images. I adore storytelling. I like the MA program and the practice of TM meditation. Last Saturday night a special yearly fashion show, “EcoJam,” took place in downtown Fairfield, Iowa and some MIU students were involved in putting on the show. Everyone from alumni, current students and prospective students took part in organizing, designing, modeling and attending. How are you liking the MA program?
I am loving the DLMA program. First and foremost I came to grow on a personal level, through meditation, through consciousness and through my creativity. Laura Bustillos is a documentary filmmaker/visual journalist from the US-Mexico border of Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua and El Paso, Texas. She was born less than 10 miles away from US territory, lived her early childhood years in Mexico, and moved to the US with her family when she was 12 years old.
