Last weekend, MIU’s Ethiopian community held their largest annual celebration: Ethiopian New Year. Students, staff, faculty, and community members of all cultural backgrounds joined together to enjoy traditional food, dancing, performances, and socializing. The evaluators are always impressed with the department’s top-notch quality – most recently Susan White, Professor of Painting and Drawing at the University of Iowa, who rated the program’s 2014-2015 academic year.

On May 16th, MIU students dressed to impress for the 2015 Graduation Ball.
The Grad Ball is an annual MIU event that celebrates the year’s graduating class. It is held in the Arts and Convention Center (the same space that hosts the EcoJam fashion show) and features music, dancing, food, a photobooth, and more. This year’s event was catered by Cafe Dodici, a much-beloved Italian restaurant located in Washington, IA known especially for their chocolate-covered strawberries.
