Lauren Webster came to MUM from New Orleans, Louisiana, where she graduated from Xavier University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a minor in sociology. Lauren has always been fascinated by human behavior and wanted to use her psychology training in a business environment, so she decided to earn an MBA.
Zoey Jiang came to MUM in August 2014 to study in the Accounting Professionals MBA program. However, she felt so captivated by Maharishi’s knowledge that she transferred to the Maharishi Vedic Science master’s program within a week. In September, she is planning to attend the Transcendental Meditation Teacher Training Course in Bali.
On June 18, 366 students from 53 countries graduated from Maharishi International University. Acclaimed filmmaker David Lynch gave the commencement address and, instead of a traditional speech, he conducted a spontaneous question and answer session with four graduating students.
MIU student Sam Bozzo received his BFA in film from the ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena, California and attended the UCLA Professional Screenwriting program. Over the past 20 years he has had a prolific career as a video producer, director, editor, and motion graphic designer working in many industries, including advertising, education, and entertainment. He has also written dozens of screenplays, and his short films were screened at the Sundance and Toronto Film Festivals.
Maharishi International University has reached another milestone in the ongoing renovation of campus buildings in line with its 5-year strategic plan. The most recent upgrades focused on dormitory Hildenbrand Hall and its neighbor Verrill Hall, which now houses classrooms and offices.
Andrew Rushing hails from Kansas City, Missouri, and he came to MIU because he was interested in Indian philosophy. While searching the Internet he came across a Unified Field Chart, which intrigued him so much that he decided to study Maharishi Vedic Science.
The MIU Computer Professionals Program is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. The number of students currently enrolled in the program has reached a record number—over 1000, including students on campus and in practicum positions.
Dustin Matthews grew up in Eliot, a small town in Maine, and attended Plymouth State University in New Hampshire, where he was captain of the football team. After obtaining an undergraduate degree in physical education, Dustin got a master’s in education and went on to assist in coaching the college football team. After he left the university, he worked as a personal trainer.
Prior to coming to MIU, Angela Seng worked as manager of an essential oil manufacturing company. She didn’t consider going to college until she became interested in holistic health and sustainability and discovered MIU.
A team of MBA students from MIU scored in the 94th percentile in a competitive tournament in integrated decision-making against 1066 master’s degree level teams worldwide. Anthony Illuzzi, client relations consultant with Capsim Management Simulations in Chicago, Illinois, made the announcement on March 14.
