We are delighted to welcome you as a student at MIU. Below are the next steps for new online degree students.

Information for all online students

• Online course registration
Each student will be sent an email that includes steps to register. Once the registration process is completed, you will receive access to your courses from MIU Online. Your courses are accessed through Canvas, our online learning management system. An email notification will be sent to you with your Canvas login. See “Additional information for each degree program” below for questions about your program’s course access.
• Financial aid (US students)
If you have filed your FAFSA, the Office of Financial Aid will email your award letter containing instructions, if required, for your federal student loans. Email the Office of Financial Aid with your questions.
• Payment
Make payments online by August 1 for the fall semester or by February 1 for the spring semester. For questions about the payment process, email the Office of Student Accounts. For questions on the payment amount, email the Office of Financial Aid.
• Transcendental Meditation

All MIU students practice the Transcendental Meditation^® technique. If you have not learned it yet:

• Once accepted as a US student, the cost of TM instruction is covered through a grant offered by MIU
• Students are required to learn the TM technique before starting the first class
• Contact your admissions counselor for details
• Find information on the TM technique or search for a TM teacher at TM.org

• MBA in Sustainable Business students
For questions regarding your online courses, email your academic advisor, Ayako Huang. You may participate in live class sessions through the videoconferencing software Adobe Connect. When you get your online course access, you will also be given the URL for the course’s Adobe Connect web page and your Adobe Connect login credentials. Most courses have a textbook, though many course readings will be PDF articles uploaded to Canvas or pre-recorded lectures. If your course requires a textbook, a list of the required textbooks will be sent by your professor.
• EdD in Transformational Leadership & Coaching students

Welcome to the EdD in Transformational Leadership and Coaching! For questions regarding your online courses or the academic program, email your academic advisor, John Davidoff, at john.davidoff@miu.edu. Class meets Tuesday and Thursday, 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, and Saturday EQ lab is either 9:00 am to 11:00 am or 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. The dates of the Orientation are August 30 to September 1.

There are readings required for every course in the program. The main subject matter in the program is you and your personal and professional development as a human, coach, and leader. Be prepared to learn and grow and become even more of yourself than you currently are, as you integrate social and emotional intelligence with the Science of Creative Intelligence. See you soon!
