OuterDiminsions_My Reincarnation 10x 13.tifMy Reincarnation, the Emmy-nominated documentary film that follows the journey of awakening of a famous Buddhist teacher’s son, screens this Saturday, April 2nd at 7:30 p.m. as part of the David Lynch MFA in Film (DLMFA) Outer Dimensions Film Series at Fairfield’s Orpheum Theater.

DLMFA co-founder and Fairfield resident Joanna Plafsky is Executive Producer of My Reincarnation, which was filmed over the course of 20 years by director Jennifer Fox. The critically acclaimed film chronicles the epic story of high Tibetan Buddhist Master Chögyal Namkhai Norbu’s rise as a renowned Buddhist teacher in the West, while his western-born son Yeshi, recognized at birth as the reincarnation of a famous spiritual master, breaks away from his father’s tradition to embrace the modern world.

Never before has a high Tibetan Master allowed such complete access to his private life and it is doubtful that another ever will. With intimate access to both family and Buddhist inner circles, including the Dalai Lama, Director Jennifer Fox expertly distills a decades long drama into a universal story about love, transformation, and destiny.

Can the father convince his son to keep the family’s threatened spiritual legacy alive?

“I was extremely touched by the way Jennifer’s master/disciple relationship mirrored my own deep experience with my master Maharishi Mahesh Yogi,” explains Executive Producer Joanna Plafsky. “After years of experience in the highly charged entertainment industry, I wanted to do more by offering films about real transformation. My Reincarnation is about high consciousness and finding your passion in life … something everyone can relate to whether you have found it or you’re searching for it. I am delighted that Fairfield audiences now have a chance to view this moving film.” Movie-goers are encouraged to stay after the screening for a Q&A with Joanna Plafsky.

General Admission $7.00; Students $5.00. Tickets sold at the door and proceeds go to benefit the David Lynch MFA program.
