Rock Star Whisperer Speaks | Kathryn Frazier

Dubbed ‘The Rockstar Whisperer’ in an article by The Guardian, Kathryn Frazier relates her personal story of how she came from scrappy roots to build one of the most successful PR businesses in the music industry, representing such stars as Justin Bieber, Daft Punk, Lauryn Hill, Skrillex, and the Weeknd. While her job has long been to help artists achieve fame, her latest passion is helping her clients figure out how to deal with their sometimes overwhelming success. Confronted with the depression, anxiety, and addiction that many of her stars were experiencing, she became a life coach, counseling her clients on how to keep an even keel in the midst of fame. Frazier explores how she navigated her way through personal and professional growth while interweaving her PR and coaching businesses to become an entrepreneurial powerhouse.

Mar Häusler’s talk offers deep insights into the field of social entrepreneurship, especially in the area of our personal relationship with money. A former London financial trader, Ms. Häusler left the finance world on a quest to explore deeper, more humanitarian forms of economics and money. After completing her Master’s in Economics at Schumacher College in the UK, she relates how she journeyed to the jungles of Brazil, where she worked with local communities to develop INKIRI$, a currency that changed the way locals collaborate. This has evolved into her latest project – the Give & Take Lab – a gamified experience for students that uses Social Currency to empower individuals to tackle world sustainability issues. Her talk inspires us to envision how we can also become a “social consciousness transformer”.

High Concepts Down-to-Earth | Concept to Market Panel

Joe Sugarman

Entrepreneur emeritus Joe Sugarman is a legend in copywriting and direct marketing. Recognized for his innovative print advertising approach and as the first person to introduce the use of toll-free numbers, he was also a pioneer in the introduction of several product concepts such as the pocket calculator, the digital watch and other innovative space-age products for their time. His ads appeared in just about every in-flight airline magazine for several years under his JS& A banner and he was a regular on QVC for 20 years, selling over 20 million pairs of his popular BluBlocker sunglasses. He will be on a morning panel and then deliver the keynote address at the afternoon Big Fish event.

Peter Janssen is a venture capitalist with a 40-year track record of funding breakthrough technologies for the betterment of mankind. At age 33 he was featured on the cover of Success Magazine as one of the up-and-coming entrepreneurs in the world. His most recent venture, AnchorFree, the world's largest private virtual network (VPN) with over 1 billion users, was recently sold to Jeffrey Katzenberg, former CEO of Disney and DreamWorks.

Dennis Roland served 20 years as a senior manager with a large financial services company. During his tenure, he maintained bottom line accountability for the performance of investments under his control while providing investment, underwriting, and financial management services to international clients. Mr. Roland also served as the Chief Operating Officer to multiple publicly traded investment companies, the Managing Director of a NY-based consulting company and business strategist to multiple start-ups.

Maharishi International University (MIU), a private university in Fairfield, Iowa, features a “Consciousness-Based Education” system that includes the practice of the Transcendental Meditation technique. Its key features include the total study immersion of the one-course-at time block system, self-discovery and self-development as core principles, and a progressive and inclusive campus culture. The David Lynch Foundation (DLF) is a global charitable organization with offices in New York City, Washington DC, Chicago, Los Angeles and Fairfield, Iowa. It was founded by film director and Transcendental Meditation (TM) practitioner David Lynch in 2005 to develop and implement scientifically proven stress-reducing modalities for at-risk populations, including inner city students, veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder, American Indians, the homeless and incarcerated adults. The DLF also funds research to assess the effects of the program on academic performance, ADHD and other learning disorders, anxiety, depression, substance abuse, cardiovascular disease, post-traumatic stress disorder, and diabetes.
