Soil Science with Francis Thicke

Sustainable Living has been honored to have local entrepreneur and organic dairy farmer Francis Thicke teaching our first week of Soil Science.

Students are learning the history of soil, how to test the soil and how to enrich the soil naturally. This is a hands-on classroom experience with half the day spent listening to the wisdom gleaned from years of experience and the other half experiencing the great outdoors and learning how to keep it great.

Francis has so much knowledge to convey his talks are fast-paced and full of facts. He generously talks about not only his success stories but also the lessons he learned through experimentation.  The students have thoroughly enjoyed what they have learned and how they are learning it.
