Join us for the second session of Docu Café, our new monthly webinar series on the art and practice of documentary filmmaking.

Beyond cameras and edits lies a deeper dimension of filmmaking, one rooted in awareness, empathy, and connection. In this session, we will explore:

  • How presence, intuition, and inner preparation, supported by the practice of Transcendental Meditation guide the filmmaker’s creative process
  • Building authentic, compassionate relationships with subjects through ethical storytelling grounded in awareness
  • Simple practices that cultivate clarity, insight, and purpose throughout production and post

The session will be led by Stuart J. Tanner (BBC, Nat Geo, Amnesty International Award) and Amine Kouider (David Lynch Foundation, Playing for Change), program directors of MIU’s MFA in Documentary Filmmaking. Together, they’ll share practical insights on how spirituality is reshaping the documentary field and what it means for filmmakers today and in the future.
