Applied Soil Technology Grads In Demand

Graduates of the Applied Soil Technologies track of MIU’s Sustainable Living department are finding themselves in demand worldwide. Since August 2014, Molly Haviland (BS, class of 2013) has

taught a two-week course on “Living Soils” held at Corvinus University in Hungary, followed by a tour of the Carpathian Mountains in Romania, taking soil samples from pastures, hay fields and forests that have never been touched by tillage or chemicals. Alumni Profile: Ganesh Baniya 2012

Ganesh Baniya, Accounting Manager at The Washington Post in Washington, DC, graduated with his MBA from MIU in May of 2012 with a GPA of 3.99.  While a student in the MBA Accounting Program, Ganesh passed all parts of the Certified Management Accounting Exam, and his Capsim Foundation Simulation team finished #1 in an international business competition against more than 100 MBA teams.  At graduation ceremonies in 2012, Ganesh was named Most Outstanding MBA Accounting Professional.

Joshua Laraby: In Pursuit of Entrepreneurship and Holistic Medicine

MIU student Joshua Laraby grew up in Escanaba, Michigan. After spending five years in a corporate job in the grocery industry, he needed a challenge and decided to get a degree. He has always had an interest in alternative medicine so he began a pre-medicine program at the University of Wisconsin. After his first year, however, he noticed a Facebook ad for MIU and after browsing the MIU website he found what he had been looking for.
