Resident Advisor Program
The Resident Advisor (RA) program has been designed to promote the comfort and convenience of your student residence experience. RA’s provide peer support in the living areas.
RA Duties
- Help maintain orderliness and quality of residence hall life
- Advocate student needs to the University Housing Director and the Student Affairs Council
- Act as a liaison between the residence hall residents and Facilities Management, Housing, Student Activities, and the Deans of Students
- Help organize residence hall meetings and social activities
- Take a personal interest in the progress of all students in the living area
- Assist residents in case of emergency
Students who wish to serve as Resident Advisors must be familiar with all guidelines in the Student Affairs Handbook (especially those on housing, guests, fire regulations, and student conduct), as well as other University resource information. Those students wishing to apply to be an RA should contact Lynwood King, Associate Dean of Men, ext. 1327 (470-1327).
